Give with Your Dues
Membership Dues Donation – Contribute $35 or more on your membership dues statement designated to the SME Foundation General Fund or SMEF program of your choice. Your tax-deductible contributions to the Foundation provide necessary funding for programs that support important education, outreach and professional development to the SME community and mining industry.
Make a Memorial Donation
Remember a loved one with a gift in their name. The family will receive a list of all donors who made gifts in their memory.
Tribute Gifts –
Make a donation in honor of a family member, friend, colleague for a special holiday or occasion. We will send an acknowledgment of your recognition gift but will keep the amount private. Follow the same instructions at the link above except select “In Honor Of”
Employee Matching Gifts
Your employer may match your charitable contributions to the SME Foundation. Ask your HR representative for guidelines. Click the button to a view a list of Companies with Matching Gift Programs.
Donate an Item for the Silent Auction
Support the SME Foundation Gala at MINEXCHANGE with a donation to the silent auction.
Designate an IRA Rollover Distribution*
Taxpayers age 72 or older may be able to transfer up to $100,000 annually from their IRA accounts directly to the SME Foundation without first having to recognize the distribution as income. Contact your IRA plan administrator to transfer a gift directly from your IRA to the SME Foundation to help support our profession and the industry. Donate Appreciated Securities*
You may be able to avoid out-of-pocket expenses and capital gains when you donate publicly traded stock and mutual funds held long-term (more than one year) to the SME Foundation. For transfer instructions click the button below.
Donate Your Unwanted Vehicle
Complete this online donation form or call 866-628-2277 and Vehicles for Charity will take care of the rest. They will pick up your vehicle, arrange to have your donation towed and provide you with a tax-deductible receipt, all at no charge to you.
